Favourite building number 22 – ‘Matrix’ at Teshima Art Museum designed by architect Ryue Nishizawa and artist Rei Naito, 2010 in Teshima, Japan.
The building was designed to look like a droplet of water. There are two oval openings that let the wind, rain, light and sound in; a merging of architecture and nature. Inside the building water springs up through the floor forming little pools of water that, once they are big enough, slide across the floor and disappear down little holes to re-emerging a little later elsewhere along the floor.
